Sterile grain provides a nutritious medium for expanding mushroom mycelium before transferring fully colonized grain to a suitable fruiting substrate.
Our sterile grain bags contain approximately 2 kg of sterilized wheat grain and feature a self-healing injection port and filter patch for gas exchange.
The bags contain sterile grain when supplied. They do not become grain spawn until the grain has been inoculated with an appropriate culture and fully colonized by mushroom mycelium.
