It is generally better to mist the sides and internal surfaces of the fruiting area rather than heavily spraying developing mushrooms. Avoid soaking mushroom pins, caps or substrate surfaces, as excessive moisture can cause problems.
How often should I mist my mushroom grow?
There is no single schedule suitable for every species or growing setup. Mist only when the growing area needs additional moisture. Monitor the conditions with a digital thermometer and hygrometer rather than relying only on a fixed routine.
What type of water should I use?
Clean filtered or distilled water is recommended. Replace the water regularly and avoid leaving old water standing in the bottle for long periods.
