What is included in each pack?

Each pack contains 5 individually wrapped sterile 10ml syringes with Luer lock fittings. Needles, alcohol wipes and mushroom cultures are not included.

What are these sterile 10ml syringes used for?

They are suitable for mushroom liquid culture work, sterile liquid transfer, inoculation preparation, agar work and general laboratory-style applications.

What is a Luer lock syringe?

A Luer lock syringe has a threaded tip that allows a compatible needle or accessory to twist securely into place. This helps reduce leaks and accidental disconnection during use.

Are the syringes supplied sterile?

Yes. Each syringe is individually sealed in sterile packaging and should remain unopened until immediately before use.

Are needles included?

No. Needles are sold separately. These syringes are compatible with suitable Luer lock needles, including our 16G sterile Luer lock syringe needles.

Can these syringes be used for mushroom liquid culture?

Yes. The 10ml capacity is ideal for drawing up, measuring and transferring mushroom liquid culture. They can be paired with our Mushroom Liquid Culture 5 Pack or other liquid cultures from our range.

Can I use these syringes with a sterilised grain bag?

Yes. When fitted with a compatible sterile needle, they can be used to inoculate a grain bag through a self-healing injection port. Our 2kg sterilised wheat grain spawn bag arrives hydrated, pressure sterilised and ready to inoculate.

Can they be used with self-healing injection ports?

Yes. When used with a suitable sterile needle, these syringes can inject or withdraw liquid through a compatible self-healing port. Our self-healing injection ports are useful for liquid culture lids, grain jars and custom mycology equipment.

Can these syringes be used for agar work?

Yes. They can be used for accurately dispensing small amounts of compatible sterile liquid during agar and culture work. Use only a small drop of liquid culture when inoculating an agar plate.

Are these syringes reusable?

No. They are intended for single use. Reusing a syringe increases the risk of contamination and cross-contamination between cultures.

How should the syringes be stored?

Keep them sealed in their original packaging and store them in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture and excessive heat. Do not use a syringe if its sterile wrapper is open, damaged or punctured.
